{"id":1202,"date":"2014-05-15T16:55:26","date_gmt":"2014-05-15T14:55:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.women-in-exile.net\/?p=1202"},"modified":"2014-05-15T16:55:26","modified_gmt":"2014-05-15T14:55:26","slug":"our-protest-in-potsdam-succeeded","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.women-in-exile.net\/en\/was-wir-tun\/our-protest-in-potsdam-succeeded\/","title":{"rendered":"our protest in Potsdam succeeded"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Deutsch unten<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>In June 2013 Women in Exile and others <a href=\"https:\/\/www.women-in-exile.net\/2013\/06\/20\/why-we-yesterday-demonstrated-in-potsdam\/\">protested in Potsdam<\/a> against refugees being housed in containers and against a newly implemented procedure which makes it very difficult for refugees to get a flat.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Before they allowed refugees to move from the \u201cHeim\u201d they had to go through an examination procedure to proof that they are able to live in their own flats. That examination procedure includes special interviews with Sozialamt and Ausl\u00e4nderbeh\u00f6rde. These interviews were meant to discriminate refugees in the sense that good ones are able to separate garbage, they the are able to honour the German tradition of afternoon quieteness when neighbours are taking Siesta etc. <!--more--><br \/>\nThe <a href=\"http:\/\/www.antidiskriminierungsberatung-brandenburg.de\/sites\/default\/files\/attachements\/op_beratung_2011_english.pdf\">Antidiscrimination Office in Brandenburg<\/a> took this issue up <strong>and we are happy to report that the officials of Potsdam city have decided to stop this discriminative practice. We are glad to know that our voices are being heard and so we will keep on fighting.<\/strong><br \/>\nMore on this, you can read on the report of the Antidiscrimination Office: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.women-in-exile.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/2014_gutachten_wohnfaehigkeits_pruefung_opp.pdf\">2014_gutachten_wohnfaehigkeits_pruefung_opp<\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"hyphenate text\" lang=\"de\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"hyphenate text\" lang=\"de\"><strong>Im Juni 2013 protestierte Women in Exile mit anderen in Potsdam gegen die Unterbringung von Fl\u00fcchtlingen in Containern und gegen ein neue eingef\u00fchrtes Verfahren, das es sehr schwierig f\u00fcr Fl\u00fcchtlinge machte, eine Wohnung zu bekommen.<\/strong><br \/>\nBevor zugelassen wurde, dass Fl\u00fcchtlinge aus dem &#8220;Heim &#8221; ausziehen, mussten sie durch ein Pr\u00fcfungsverfahren, um den den Nachweis zu erbringen, dass sie in der Lage sind, in ihren eigenen Wohnungen zu leben. Das Pr\u00fcfungsverfahren umfasst spezielle Interviews mit Sozialamt und Ausl\u00e4nderbeh\u00f6rde . Diese Interviews sollten Fl\u00fcchtlinge unterscheiden, in die Guten, die in der Lage sind, M\u00fcll zu trennen und die deutsche Tradition der Mittagsruhe zu ehren, wenn Nachbarn ihre Siesta halten, und so weiter.
