Marching with our allies in Potsdam, on Saturday the 07.03.20. Celebrating International day for women with the motto \u201eWe fight together\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The activities on this\nday were as diverse and corouful as the alliances. We read speeches, celebrated\nand honoured past women* hereoes who died through femicide or racism. We made\nour voices loud by shouting slogans, dancing and singing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the demonstration\nand the opening of our new space on the 08.3, we diceded to reflect personally\non this years International Women’s day 2020 theme: \u201eI AM GENERATIONAL\nEQUALITY: realizing women`s rights\u201c. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking into account\nthat feminism is diverse and we fight together, means looking and acknowledging\neach other because we have different fights and different experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is why, we asked\nsome of the women* from our group; what fighting together on gender equality\nindividually means to them:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201eFighting together\non gender equality \u2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026.is fighting for the\nequal access with ease of ressources and opportunities regardless of one being\nmale or female.\u201c (E.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

…is to empower women,\nwith a focus on identifying and redressing power inbalances and giving women\nmore autonomy to manage their own lives.\u201c (L.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026 means that our\ndiversity is one of our strenghts and that we are united in our journey towards\njustice.\u201c (M.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026 means to fight for\nequality in all aspectects of life and against all forms of oppression and\nacknowledge how they are interconnected.\u201c ( Ch.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026 means fighting for\nmore chances for women in all areas, creating space for women in the decision\nmaking table. It also means that women are able to explore and express their\nfemininity without fear of sexual assault or constriction.\u201c (S.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

…is the struggle\nagainst the colonisation of our bodies, our minds, our people and territories.\nThere can be no struggle for equality if there is no struggle against racism.\u201c\n(D.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
