On March 6th 2026, Women in Exile & Friends are gathering outside the refugee camp in Wünsdorf to celebrate International Women’s Day together with the women*
But this day is not only about celebration, it is about resistance!
We will once again raise our voices against racist refugee policies, especially against the so-called “Bezahlkarte.” This card is presented as a neutral administrative tool, but in reality it is another form of control and exclusion. Refugee women* repeatedly report humiliating experiences in supermarkets: being made to wait, being served last, sometimes not being served at all. Cashiers claim that the card is “inconvenient” for other “normal” customers. These everyday acts of discrimination are not isolated incidents, they are part of a system that dehumanizes and marginalizes.
We will also speak out about the unbearable living conditions in the camps. Overcrowded rooms where too many people are forced to share tiny spaces. Broken hotplates in shared kitchens that don’t get repaired, causing daily stress and conflict among residents. These conditions are not accidental, they are political decisions.
Refugee women* are particularly affected by these harsh and inhumane circumstances. On March 6th, we stand together to say: enough is enough!
Women in Exile & Friends invites all allies, and supporters to join us and fight together against these injustices. Your presence matters.
We want to warmly thank everyone who has already reached out and supported feminist and FLINTA structures, especially those helping with tea, coffee, vegan food, and childcare. And a special thank you to all the women* and friends who have been doing the organizing work behind the scenes.
The Soli-Bus will leave from Oranienplatz in Berlin at 12:00 to bring everyone who wants to join the rally to Wünsdorf. Come with us. Let’s stand together in solidarity.
