Invitation to the Summer Camp 2025: in Markgrafpieske, Brandenburg from 27.– 31.8.25

Women in Exile & Friends’ house project “Home in Exile” in Markgrafpieske.

This year is special: from our new house project Home in Exile, we invite you to join us in creating spaces of empowerment where refugee women*, children, and allies come together to exchange knowledge, strengthen self-organization, and develop strategies to resist oppression and discrimination.
Women in Exile & Friends, refugee women* / FLINTA continue to courageously and resolutely fight against:
- Racism and deportations.
- Stigmatisation and incitement against refugees.
- The planned abolition of asylum rights and discriminatory payment cards.
- Hatred towards queer and marginalised communities.
Home in Exile is a long-cherished dream. We are proud that it is now becoming a reality. By owning our own house, property and garden, we are resisting the political climate and attempts to deport refugee women*. We are creating our own spaces and overcoming the isolation imposed by the camp system.
We are already present in the wider area with our beautiful garden, which we are cleaning up and repairing with friends, neighbours, and supporters. The overwhelming sense of solidarity and practical support we are experiencing is incredible. People we didn’t know before are offering their support and preparing the site for the summer camp. Rooms for overnight stays are being prepared, and compost toilets and solar showers are being set up.

We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Netwerk Selbsthilfe for their generous donation of 2,000€, which helped us to cover the cost of food, transport and essential materials during our renovation process. Thank you for standing with us.
There will be various workshops on creating a vision for our new housing project, professional orientation for FLINTA refugees, and developing strategies to combat daily discrimination.
People without a refugee background, as well as supporters, friends and neighbours, are also cordially invited.
Let’s eat and celebrate together as we continue to make our voices heard! Let’s continue the struggle for a society that is free from racism, sexism and exclusion!
Freedom of movement is everybody’s right! The right to come, the right to go, and the right to stay!
